Snow Stars is a skill development program aimed at introducing, developing and refining skiing and ski racing skills. As the cornerstone entry level program in the Alpine Canada "Alpine Integrated Model" (AIM), Snow Stars will provide the foundation and knowledge base in the areas of technical, tactical, mental and physical skills – the critical components that make up a high performing ski racer – necessary to motivate and reward athletes and skiers towards excellence in skiing and ski racing.

Enthusiastic and well-prepared coaches and participants play an integral role in the success of the program.

Alpine Ski Racing Long Term Skier Development (LTSD) Framework

The Snow Stars program focuses on the Skier Essential and Learning to Train phases.

Although tailored to suit the needs of the ski club that delivers the program and its members, Alpine Canada suggests that the seven levels in Snow Stars would ideally be completed by age 12. However, the program is designed for delivery to the U16 age group and is based on the ideal window of trainability.

Ideal days on snow: U10: 47+ / U12: 55+ / U14: 75+ / U16: 100+

Skiing is a brilliant sport that offers much to the families involved. Whether you choose to be in a racing or participation program, the results are the same – a life-long love of the sport that is passed on through the generations.
